iCloud on IOS 10.0.1 iPad Air 2

Hi, I am currently having a recurring issue with my iPad Air 2's iCloud service. It is connected to an iCloud account that doesn't exist anymore. My iPad then starts to constantly bring up the Apple ID verification message every 10 seconds! What do I do?! This was while I was trying to send this message!
